Changes in Kahoku
From April 2004 Unoke, Takamatsu and Nanatsuka will merge into a new city called Kahoku, but will remain part of the county.

The Kahoku CIRs currently have an international committee which runs events for the people of Kahoku http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kahokugun
The committee will be hosting the famous Genki English duo at Kahoku schools and town venues from June 11th to 21st.
As a result of the town merger, the number of CIRs will reduce from five to four as of August 2003.
There will also be new ALTs in Tsubata, Uchinada and Nanatsuka from August 2003.
