Tokyo Recontracting Conference, June 6th-8th 2005

Audio Visual Aids in the Classroom

Thank you very much for taking the time to attend my workshop. I know it is terrible to have to sit inside and listen to all the seminars when all you really want to do is be outside having fun in Tokyo! Nonetheless, I hope that I didn't bore you too much and you could find at least a few helpful suggestions.

As I mentioned at the beginning of my workshop, I didn't want to burden you with a massive handout packet, so instead I am making my lecture notes as well as the presentation powerpoint and handouts available below for you to download. The lecture notes cover basically everything I said in the workshop as well as a few things I didn't and runs about 14 pages. Since they are just my notes, they're not "finished" persay - there may be a few spelling errors and unfinished thoughts lurking around in there somewhere, I'm afraid! The powerpoint is the same one which I showed at the conference, but due to size limitations, I wasn't able to include the movies which I demonstrated (they've been replaced with still pictures).

As I said, I am more than happy to help you out with any questions you may have about using audio-visual aids in the classroom, be they technical (how do I copy DVDs to my computer to use in class?), general (what do you think is the best way to get my JTE onboard?) or theoretical (do you feel it's possible to have too much whitespace on a flashcard?) Don't hesitate to contact me via e-mail and I'll do my best to help you out!
